Nike's Kobe 3 Low Protro "Mamba Eterno" Brings Día de Muertos to SNKRS on October 30

Nike has put a date on it: the Kobe 3 Low Protro "Mamba Eterno" (IO6260-800) is on the SNKRS calendar for Friday, October 30 at 10:00 AM ET, at $190. The pair first leaked through retailer Instagram posts in early October, and Nike's own launch page now confirms the name, the price and the date.

Nike says the colorway is a nod to Día de Muertos, the celebration that honors the people who came before us, and calling a Kobe pair "Mamba Eterno" (the eternal Mamba) for that holiday lands about as gently as a sneaker can. The shoe itself is anything but quiet. The upper and the famous TPU cage come in a bright Safety Orange with floral graphics blooming through the cage, which gives it serious marigold energy. The tongue and laces fade from one tone into another, the Swooshes don't match from left to right, and Emerald Green and Hyper Grape show up on the collars and heel tabs. Flip them over and the outsoles are signed in script, "Mamba" on one shoe and "Eterno" on the other. Nike's photos also show spare laces in purple, green and pink.

Under all the color it's still a Protro, so Nike says it uses more breathable materials and extra tongue padding, the same "built to actually hoop in" update the rest of the line gets. That matters for the Kobe 3 more than most. The caged upper looked like the future back in the day, and the low version is the one people actually want to wear now.

Our take: this is the most fun Kobe colorway of the fall, and it comes with a real reason to exist instead of just being another color. Dropping two days before Día de Muertos is good timing too. Fair warning: this orange can be seen from the nosebleeds, so it's not a "match it with everything" shoe. It's the shoe the outfit gets built around. Kobe pairs at $190 on SNKRS usually go fast, so plan on the app being your whole Friday morning.

House of Heat also flagged a Kobe Dunk Low Protro "Mamba Eterno" (IQ3922-001) joining the same October 30 pack at $130. Anthracite/Sundial: red-and-orange woven textile across the toe and quarters, distressed black overlays, a gold Sheath logo on the tongue, mismatched purple and green insoles with gold "Mamba Eterno" script, and extra pink, white and black laces. HoH says the collection also stretches to an Air Force 1 and the Kobe A.D. Protro, so the orange-and-red story is bigger than one silhouette. It is not on SNKRS US/GB/FR feeds yet, so treat the Dunk details as trade-press for now — credit House of Heat (Ali Albaqshi, Oct 18).

The details: Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro "Mamba Eterno," style IO6260-800, $190. SNKRS, Friday, October 30, 2026 at 10:00 AM ET; Complex reports select retailers will carry it too. Sole Retriever lists a grade-school version (IW0828-700) at $120. Nike hasn't confirmed that one on its launch page. House of Heat also lists the Kobe Dunk Low Protro "Mamba Eterno" IQ3922-001 for the same Oct 30 date at $130 (not yet on SNKRS).

At ONENESS: The Mamba Eterno isn't in our lineup, but the Kobe shelf is stocked. The Kobe x Nike Air Force 1 Low Protro in White / Safety Orange is the same orange family in a much calmer dose. The Nike Kobe 10 Protro "Blue Lagoon" and the Nike Kobe Dri-FIT Fleece Pullover Hoodie are also in stock, and the rest is under Nike at ONENESS.
