Update, October 19: One day out. Nike's own Jordan Triangle "Paolo" product page is up at $150 and still reads Coming Soon with a Notify Me button, which lines up with the Tuesday, October 20 Nike.com release Nice Kicks reported. If you want the loudest green in the gym this week, that's the page to keep open.
Jordan Brand is dropping one of the loudest basketball shoes of the month on a Tuesday. Per Nice Kicks, the Jordan Triangle "Paolo" (style IQ5570-300) releases Tuesday, October 20 via Nike.com and select retailers for $150.
The colorway is listed as Rage Green, Barely Volt, Black and Habanero Red, and every one of those names is earning its keep. The upper is a glossy, slime-bright green, the sculpted midsole fades into volt, and the black collar, laces and tongue keep the whole thing from glowing in the dark (probably). Red shows up in small doses: a Jumpman on the tongue, a hit at the heel and another Jumpman on the volt outsole.
Nice Kicks doesn't spell out who the "Paolo" nickname is for, but a Jordan hoops shoe called "Paolo" is going to have Orlando fans nodding before they finish reading the box.
Our take: this is not a shoe for people who want to blend in at open gym. It's a shoe for people who want the other team to lose track of the ball because they were staring at your feet. At $150 it lands in the normal range for a Jordan performance model, and the green-on-volt look is going to read great on court and very loud everywhere else.
