Update, October 15: Reminder — Converse Japan lists the ALL STAR SHARKSOLE ST Z SHIN-HI (31319250) for October 16 in Japan at ¥16,500. Morning JST windows land tonight on East Coast clocks. Still ahead of the drop; exact SKU not at ONENESS yet — ONENESS / Converse.
Converse Japan just bolted a shark-tooth sole and a pair of buckles onto the All Star and called it a Shin-Hi — which is honest branding, because this thing sits taller than your average Chuck and looks like it ate a motorcycle boot for breakfast. The ALL STAR SHARKSOLE ST Z SHIN-HI (style 31319250) is all-black canvas with two straps across the midfoot and ankle, a side zipper for the get-in-get-out crowd, and that chunky jagged Sharksole underfoot. Per Fullress and the live listing on converse.co.jp, it drops in Japan on October 16 for ¥16,500 (about $110).
Black/Black is the only colorway, which is the right call when the silhouette is already this loud. The Sharksole line has been Converse Japan's playground for thick, gnarly outsoles; this ST Z Shin-Hi version stacks straps, a zipper and that higher collar so it reads more street-armor than skate shop. Official product pages are up now with studio plates; Fullress has the lifestyle frames that make the claw-foot furniture look slightly nervous.
Our take: if your winter rotation has been all clean white sneakers and quiet leather, this is the interruption — a monochrome tank that still wears the All Star patch like it remembers where it came from. October 16 on converse.co.jp if you want the exact pair.
