Update, October 15: Tomorrow’s the day in Japan. The A.P.C. × Barbour FW26 capsule — archive Premium Thornproof Beaufort, Spey and long Bedale, plus denim, tartan shirts and Wellingtons — still launches Friday, October 16 on A.P.C. and Barbour official online stores and at select Japan stores, per Hypebeast Japan. US pricing and timing still unconfirmed.
A.P.C. and Barbour are back for round two, and this time the Paris minimalists went digging in the Barbour archive. Per Hypebeast Japan, the Fall/Winter 2026 capsule is built around a revived Premium Thornproof Wax Cotton, a dense cotton pulled specially from Barbour's back catalog in Dark Sage and Dark Navy. It's meant to break in and patina with wear, which is the exact same pitch A.P.C. has been making about raw denim for decades. Honestly, it's a wonder these two didn't team up sooner.
The outerwear is the main event. For men there's the 1983-born Beaufort (¥121,000), for women the fly-fishing-rooted Spey (¥77,000), and there's a long Sugarlump Bedale (¥132,000) that takes the classic country coat into full-length overcoat territory. The details get nerdy in a good way: utility pockets, Barbour's D-ring, detachable hoods, a wool collar where you'd usually find corduroy, traditional tartan linings, and pocket construction borrowed from A.P.C.'s own denim jackets.
Past the wax, the drop runs deep into denim and basics. There are denim jackets (¥78,100), New Standard and Elisabeth jeans (¥58,300), a skirt (¥38,500), a Barbour-tartan shirt with A.P.C. logo embroidery (¥47,300), a zip-in quilted liner, sweatshirts and tees, plus a cap, a bag and a tall Wellington boot (¥30,800). In other words, you can dress head to toe for a muddy weekend and still look like you shop in the 6th arrondissement.
Hypebeast Japan reports the collection launches Friday, October 16 on the A.P.C. and Barbour official online stores and at select A.P.C. and Barbour stores in Japan, and A.P.C.'s own site is already teasing "the A.P.C. Barbour interaction." Prices above are Japanese retail; US pricing and timing haven't been confirmed yet.
Our take: Plenty of Barbour collabs stop at a new lining or a fresh colorway. Bringing a heavier archive wax back to life and pairing it with A.P.C.'s raw indigo is a real idea. Buy the Beaufort, skip the dryer, and check back in five years.
